Love your Laundry with Vileda
September is on the way and when it comes to the laundry, outside drying is set to become scarcer. The autumn weather may offer some sunny days, but it’s likely we’ll also see the last trickles of post-summer drizzle, meaning getting washing dry outside is a thing of the past.
When starting on the dreaded laundry pile, there are a number of top tips to remember. One is to avoid spending money on dryer sheets, instead use a ball of aluminium foil to do the same job. A second tip is to always shake clothes once you take them out the washing machine in order to keep garments in shape.
When it comes to the drying process, there are also a number of things to consider…
Most of the time the weather decides this for us, but one main question is: Is it better to dry clothes outside or inside? The answer is outside; an outside breeze dries almost all materials quickly and effectively except for wool. Wool should be laid flat to keep your favourite items intact ready for the winter season.
The idea of drying clothes inside on the radiator and putting them on whilst they are cosy and warm might be nice, but it is a no go! Exposing clothes to that much direct heat can damage them over time as the fibres can weaken.
To make drying clothes outside less of a hassle, Vileda offers a number of great products, including the Supadry Hoist Rotary. This outside dryer has a strong galvanised steel frame and breeze break to lock in place for easy hanging. With capacity on the 60m line for five loads of washing and enough room to dry a double duvet cover, this outdoor clothes airer will make drying laundry a breeze.
The Vileda Cordomatic is perfect if you have limited garden space, as the durable Cordomatic is a great space saving washing line and packs away very neatly with its compact design. With up to 15 metres of retractable drying line, the wall mountable unit can be used inside or out.
For indoor drying the Viva Dry Flex boasts 50% more drying space compared to a standard indoor airer. It includes adjustable wings that offer four different drying heights and foot protectors to prevent scratching on floors.
Alternatively the Vileda Cascade is a strong indoor 3-tier airer and has 15m of drying space and contains holes to hang hangers to ensure less ironing! With three drying heights and foot protectors which prevent floor scratches, the Cascade can be folded flat for easy, out-of-the-way storage.
When hanging clothes on an airer, it’s important to hang small items on the bottom and bigger things on the top to give everything a good airflow.
