You have no items in your basket!
Its official, spring has sprung… and so has the opportunity to say goodbye to winter grime with your annual spring clean.
Not sure where to start? Or does the thought of dedicating a whole weekend to a spring clean simply fill you with dread? That’s where we come in.
We’ve been busy creating our 30-day spring cleaning challenge to help you de-clutter and clean every inch of your home – including those everyday items you often forget to clean.
Sticking with tradition, we’re focusing on one room at a time, so you can see the progress as you go. And, we’ve structured the challenge into bite-sized tasks between 20minutes to 1 hour – meaning you don’t have to spent hours on end working through your to-do list.
Are you ready to take on the challenge?
Day 1: Here’s an easy one to start – stock up on your cleaning essentials and add them to a handled box so they can easily be carried from room to room.
Day 2: Remove all items from your kitchen cupboards, wipe down all shelves and re-organise those store cupboard essentials. Don’t forget to throw anything away that’s past its best.
Day 3: Give your oven a deep clean – it’s probably been a while?!
Day 4: Remove all items from under your sink and give it a thorough clean. In need of storage solutions? Try sticking plastic magazine racks to the inside of the door to hold all cleaning products neatly.
Day 5: Give your fridge and freezer a big clean – and don’t forget to throw any expired (or questionable) food out.
Day 6: Give your kitchen bin a thorough clean. We love to sprinkle some bicarbonate of soda in the bottom to absorb unwanted smells in the warmer weather.
Day 7: Clean out your kitchen drains. For a natural solution, pour boiling water down your drain followed by a ½ cup of baking soda and allow to sit for a few minutes. Follow this with 1 cup of vinegar and 1 cup of hot water and let sit for a further 10minutes before rinsing through with more hot water.
Day 8: Thoroughly vacuum all carpets and rugs. Not a fan of vacuuming? Try our cleaning robot to save yourself a job!
Day 9: Give your used fireplace a proper clean – don’t forget to ensure its cooled down first.
Day 10: Dust blinds with an old winter glove (you won’t need those anymore) or take your curtains down to give them a wash.
Day 11: De-clutter and organise your coffee table – any old magazines can go in the recycling.
Day 12: Go through and organise your books, DVD’s and CD’s – are there any you want to donate to charity?
Day 13: Clean and vacuum the sofa (and make sure you treat yourself with any loose change you find).
Day 14: Give toilets a good scrub; replacing your toilet brush if you use one.
Day 15: Wash bath mats and/or replace your shower curtain with a new one.
Day 16: Re-organise and wipe down bathroom cabinets, checking the use by dates on any products and medicines.
Day 17: Fill a plastic bag with equal parts water and white vinegar, and tie it securely over your shower head. Leave overnight before removing and rinsing for a super clean shower head.
Day 18: You’ve probably not looked under your bed since this time last year, so pull your bed out and give it a good vacuum – you might be surprised at what you find.
Day 19: Wash your inner duvet and flip your mattress – you should aim to do this at least twice a year.
Day 20: Re-organise your wardrobe, putting winter clothes to the back. Don’t forget to send any unwanted items to the charity shop!
Day 21: Re-organise your linens drawer – we like to put bedding into the matching pillowcase to keep everything together (there’s nothing worse than a mismatched set).
Day 22: Clean and organise your dressing table – throwing out any old or unused makeup and products.
Day 23: Dust blinds and/or clean curtains.
Day 24: Wipe around all light switches and door knobs for a germ-free environment.
Day 25: Tackle your skirting boards, wiping away any built up dust – not forgetting to pull any furniture out to clean behind.
Day 26: Wipe down all window sills.
Day 27: Get windows sparkling clean with the help of our Windomatic Window Vacuum Cleaner.
Day 28: Dust all mirrors in the house – you’ll be surprised at the amount of grime that gets built up.
Day 29: Take those loose coins you’ve been saving to the coin bank – you’ll be in need of a treat after all this cleaning!
Day 30: Sit back, relax and enjoy your freshly cleaned home, you deserve it.
